Meet Anne
Hi! I’m Anne Schweitzer. I live on Haven Street with my husband Jimmy and our cats and chickens. I love being so close to Carondelet Park and all of the great amenities we have in our ward!
I was born and raised in South St. Louis. I went to St. Gabe’s and Cor Jesu. My grandfather, Gordon Schweitzer, was Sheriff of St. Louis for ten years, and my mother, Jane Schweitzer, was the city’s last elected Circuit Clerk. My father, Gordon Schweitzer Jr., served the city as a lawyer in the Circuit Attorney’s and Sheriff’s offices and as a municipal court judge. Perhaps needless to say, my family instilled in me a passion for serving the city.
I earned a Bachelor's Degree from Brandeis University in Politics and Environmental Studies, and my first job out of college was as a community organizer around tenants' rights. Since then, I’ve worked in public relations, political campaigns, and for non-profits.
I am passionate about making sure that city services are delivered and our neighborhoods are safe, that we have quality and safe streets for all road users, that small businesses thrive, that our parks are kept clean and treated as the resources they are, and that we have the highest quality, cleanest drinking water that we can have.
I believe that St. Louis is a great city, not “was” but “is,” and it’s our job to make it even better.
